Metal roof materials we offer

If you know what materials you need or are just starting out, we have several options for roofing, including 3 types of metal panels, a wide collection of attractive metal shingles, and all the metal trim your project requires.

Metal Panels

Standing Seam Metal Roofing

For the ultimate in looks and durability, turn to our Standing Seam. These panels are the top of the line in metal roofing, as they have no visible fasteners and create some of the most refined looks. Standing Seam is well-suited to many types of roofing projects.

G-Rib Metal Roofing

For true quality at the lowest expense, look to Kauffman’s G-Rib panel. Also known as ag panels or standard panels, these ribbed panels have a series of ¾” ridges that contribute both aesthetics and rigidity to the steel. These panels are popular for sheds, agricultural buildings, commercial buildings, and some homes.

R-Rib Metal Roofing

For a similar look but with more rigidity, move up to our R-rib, whose taller ridges add stiffness. These panels work well on commercial buildings where longer spans are required, but also work anywhere a G-Rib panel does.

How can I use your metal products?

Our G-Rib and R-Rib products are considered “exposed fastener” panels. This means they are attached with screws that go through the panel. Each screw has a rubber washer that keeps water out. Both panel styles can be used for roofing or for siding.

Standing Seam is our “hidden fastener” panel. This means that screws are placed in a flange that is covered by the next panel. Standing seam is top-of-the-line for metal roofing, though it comes at a higher price than exposed fastener systems.

Metal shingles are something of a rising star in roofing. They give a traditional shingled look while offering many benefits. These include lighter weight and a longer life than asphalt.

Why choose Kauffman metal for my project?

  • Durability

    • With a lifespan of 40-70 years, metal lasts much longer than most roofing materials. And, with Kauffman’s lifetime transferrable warranty, our metal is an investment in your home.
  • Fire and wind resistance

    • Kauffman metal panels and shingles resist fire extremely well and are designed to stay put in strong winds.
  • Lightweight

    • Metal is light in relation to its surface area. This means that buildings need fewer materials—roof trusses can be spaced further apart and purlins can often be used instead of sheathing. For re-roofing, it is possible to put metal on top of an existing roof, saving removal costs.
  • Energy efficient

    • Metal roofing reflects heat, reducing your energy costs in the summer. Metal shingles, like those we carry from Isaiah Industries, allow airflow below them, keeping attics cooler.
  • Easy installation

    • Metal’s large panels, which we cut to the length you need, mean fewer joints and relatively quick installs by accomplished contractors or handy homeowners.
  • Compatibility

    • With our 3 panel styles, 30 color variations, and 15 shingle choices, you have a range of options for complementing your home or building.
  • Environmentally sound

    • The increased interval between roofing projects means less material in the landfill. And, when it’s time to re-roof, metal recycles.

Metal Roofing Supplies FAQs

Metal roofs and siding can last from 40-70 years, depending on the quality of materials and installation. They are known for their durability, resistance to environmental factors, and low-maintenance requirements compared to asphalt shingles.

Standing seam is different from panels like G-rib and R-rib because its panels have concealed fasteners, providing a sleek, modern appearance and improved weather resistance. The other kinds of panels have exposed fasteners and more traditional, wavy patterns. Standing seam costs more to install, but those costs result in higher performance and greater aesthetics.

It is possible to install metal panels over existing roofing and siding. However, you must consider factors like the current materials’ condition, proper ventilation, and local building codes. It’s a good idea to check with a contractor to evaluate the situation before proceeding.

Metal roofs and siding can be more energy-efficient than other materials because they are highly reflective. This reduces solar heat gain, leading to lower energy bills.

While some homeowners have the skills to install metal roofing and siding, it is usually better to hire a professional contractor since installation requires proper measuring, cutting, and fastening to ensure durability, weather resistance, and a quality appearance.
