Metal Shingles
Metal roofing isn’t limited to the large panels that many are familiar with. We currently feature four metal shingle styles from Isaiah Industries, a well-respected, national producer of metal roofing products.
Green American Home Metal Shingles
Great American Steel Shake
The Great American Steel Shake is produced from PVDF-coated, G90, American-made galvanized steel. These shingles have a heavily textured shake look that turns any home into a show stopper.
Three proprietary cedar colors consist of a four-layer PVDF coating, sold under the names Kynar 500® and Hylar 5000® PVDF resin-based finishes. These unique finishes include a high-definition wood grain print that creates light and dark areas on the roof. Thanks to these coatings, metal roofs no longer need to be monochromatic! The final coating is a clear coat PVDF which provides greater film thickness for durability as well as enhanced UV protection for fade and chalk resistance.
Key Features:
- Fully interlocking 12” x 24” panels that use concealed fasteners

Centura Steel Shingle
Asphalt, composition, and wood shingles begin to wear and fail as soon as they are installed. Black streaks, missing granules, moss, and curling corners take away from your home’s beauty and are signs of a weakening roof.

Benefits of Metal Shingles
Greater Durability
Metal shingles are more durable than asphalt shingles and can withstand harsh weather conditions such as high winds, hail, and heavy snow. They are also more resistant to damage from fallen tree branches or debris.
Longer Lifespan
While asphalt shingles typically have a lifespan of 15-30 years, metal shingles can last 40-70 years or longer, requiring less frequent roof replacements.
Lower Maintenance
Metal shingles require very little ongoing maintenance. Asphalt shingles are prone to algae or moss growth, leading to aesthetic issues and potential damage.
Enhanced Energy Efficiency
Metal shingles reflect solar heat more effectively than asphalt shingles, which helps reduce energy usage.
Environmentally Friendly
Metal shingles are more sustainable than asphalt shingles, as they can be made from recycled materials and are fully recyclable. Asphalt shingles, on the other hand, are made from petroleum products and contribute to landfill waste.
Aesthetic Appeal & Versatility
Metal shingles are available in various styles, colors, and finishes, allowing homeowners to achieve the desired look for their home. They can mimic the appearance of traditional materials, such as wood, slate, or tile, while maintaining the benefits of metal roofing.
Fire Resistance
Metal shingles are non-combustible and provide better fire resistance than asphalt shingles, reducing the risk of fire-related damage.
Potential Insurance Savings
Some insurance companies offer lower premiums for homeowners who have metal roofs due to their increased durability, longer lifespan, and higher fire resistance.
Increased Home Value
Due to their longer lifespan, energy efficiency, and aesthetic appeal, metal shingles can increase a home's resale value.
Metal Shingles FAQs
How do metal shingles hold up in high winds and other extreme weather?
Metal shingles resist wind speeds of up to 140 miles per hour, shed water efficiently, and allow snow to slide off. Their reflective surfaces reduce heat absorption.
What is the lifespan and warranty of metal shingles?
Metal shingles last for 40 years and more. The Isaiah Industries shingles we carry come with a Lifetime Limited warranty that is transferable to subsequent homeowners for up to 40 years from installation. Included in that warranty is a 30-year fade and chalk warranty, ensuring great color and giving you freedom from maintenance and peace of mind for the future.
Is it possible to reroof with metal shingles?
Reroofing with shingles is common. In fact, existing roofing can often be left in place while the shingles are installed on top. Typically, thin insulation boards or a vapor barrier should be applied to the existing surface before shingling over. In re-roofing situations, be sure to remove all drip and rake edge before adding new materials.
How does the cost of metal shingles compare to other roofing materials?
The initial cost of metal shingles may be initially higher than other materials, but their long lifespan, durability, and low maintenance requirements often make them more cost-effective in the long run.
